Skanska to construct school in Norway for about NOK 580M, about SEK 570M

Skanska has signed a contract with Sør-Trøndelag fylkeskommune to build the new Heimdal school in Trondheim, Norway, The contract is worth NOK 580M, about SEK 570M, and will be included in order bookings for Skanska Norway for the first quarter of 2016. 

The school will be about 30,000 square meters and have room for 1,140 students. The school will focus on culture and sports and among other things house a stage with 350 seats in the audience and a sports arena with room for 2,500 people.

Construction work starts in March and shall be completed in time to school starts in August 2018.

Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The unit has approximately 4,000 employees. In 2015, Skanska Norway reported revenue of SEK 12 billion. In Norway, Skanska is also active in development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
