Skanska to construct tramway extension in Bergen, Norway, for NOK 532 M, about SEK 600 M
Skanska Norway has signed a contract with Hordaland fylkeskommune and Bybanen utvikling for developing and constructing two extensions of the tramway Bybanen in Bergen, Norway. The total contract value is NOK 532 M, about SEK 600 M, and will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Norway for the third quarter 2013.
The first track, C12 Sandslivegen-Kokstad is 1,700 meters long with a contract value of NOK 420 M, about SEK 475 M. Work will commence in August 2013 and will be completed in November 2015.
The second part, C14 Flesland, will connect central Bergen with Flesland airport. The contract value is NOK 112 M, about SEK 126 M. Work will commence in August 2013 and will be completed in December 2014.
Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The unit has approximately 4,500 employees. In 2012, Skanska Norway reported revenue of SEK 12.5 billion. In Norway, Skanska is also active in the development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
