Skanska to construct university building in Florida for USD 49 M, or SEK 335 M

Skanska has secured the assignment to construct a new chemistry and chemical biology building at a major university in Florida. The contract amounts to USD 49 M, or SEK 335 M, which will be included in order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2010.

The building will consist of undergraduate teaching laboratories, classrooms, an auditorium, graduate research laboratories and offices. At a total of 13,000 square meters, the new building will provide a state-of-the-art complex for research with walk-in freezers, tissue culture labs and cold rooms.

The building will be designed and constructed with the aim of achieving the Gold level of the international LEED environmental certification rating system.

Skanska USA Building has already commenced work on the project which is scheduled for completion in August 2013.
