Skanska to develop, construct and lease for Ericsson in Budapest Skanska and Ericsson have signed an agreement for Ericsson Hungary Kft to lease 10,000 square meters of floor space in Science Park, a new center for high-tech companies, which Skanska is developing and constructing in Budapest. Skanska's investment in the first 15,000-square meter phase of Science Park amounts to SEK 180 M. The work will commence immediately and occupancy is scheduled for May 2002. The new facility, tailored for Ericsson, will replace temporary premises that Ericsson today uses in various locations around Budapest. Skanska Hungaria Kft is conducting the construction assignment, which is valued at about SEK 150 M. Science Park is immediately adjacent to the institute of Technology and the new sections of the University of Budapest. Science Park will comprise a total of 28,000 square meters of leasable floor space (gross area: 33,000 square meters). The second phase is scheduled to commence later this year. It is estimated that Skanska Project Development and Real Estate's total investment will amount to approximately SEK 360 M. Skanska is a leader in the area of project development of modern and efficient premises in Budapest. In addition to Science Park, about 50,000 square meters have been developed during the past two years. Tenants include Ernst & Young, Andersen Consulting, Reuters and British Airways. Skanska and Ericsson have a long history of collaboration and, at present, Skanska is developing and constructing a total of 91,000 square meters for Ericsson in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Lund. In addition, Skanska and Ericsson have a global cooperation agreement for the build-out of the UMTS network for mobile telephony.
