Skanska to expand an atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit in Brazil, for BRL 111 M, about SEK 347 M

Skanska has been awarded a contract to expand an Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation Unit for a confidential client in Brazil. The contract is a joint venture with two local companies. The total amount of the contract is BRL 278 M, about SEK 868 M, of which Skanska’s share is 40 percent, amounting to a total of BRL 111 M, about SEK 347 M. The order will be included in order bookings Skanska LA for the third quarter 2013.

The joint venture will be responsible for electromechanical assembly of UHOS (Ultra Heavy Over Size) equipment, preservation services, hibernation, commissioning, technical assistance and training of the Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation Unit.

Work has already started and the project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2016. About 1,300 workers will be involved when the project reaches its peak.
