Skanska upgrades Junction 6 of the M42 in Birmingham, UK, for about GBP 143 M, about SEK 1.7 billion
Skanska has signed a contract with Highways England for the upgrade of Junction 6 of the M42 highway in Birmingham, UK. The contract is worth GBP 143 M, about SEK 1.7 billion, which will be included in the order bookings for Europe for the fourth quarter 2019.
The project near Birmingham Airport is part of the M42 improvement scheme, a major highways project and an important part of the UK strategic road network. The project team will take the scheme from preliminary design stage through to handover.
Construction will start in 2020 and the project will run for five years.
