SKF ChainLube cuts lubrication costs by 85%
SKF, the knowledge engineering company, has launched SKF ChainLube, an airless oil projection system that can cut lubrication costs by as much as 85%. SKF ChainLube also offers enhanced hygienic performance to meet industrial requirements in sectors such as food and beverage, and is designed as a light, compact kit that is easy to install.
SKF ChainLube is a contact-free lubrication system, supporting the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) process in safe food production. Since it requires no contact with the chain, SKF ChainLube minimises the accumulation of dirt that results in bacteriological risks, and eliminates wear of lubrication system components. Stainless steel components such as nozzles and sensors further enhance the capability of SKF ChainLube to meet hygiene-critical requirements.
SKF ChainLube can also cope with both high and low temperatures: nozzles and tubing are able to withstand temperatures up to 220°C/430°F, and down to -40°C/-40°F. Its plastic central unit housing offers an ingress protection rating of IP65, eliminating the risk of corrosion and providing the resilience to withstand washing processes. At 15kg, SKF ChainLube is lighter than equivalent units, and is designed to be easy to install with all accessories included.
Based on SKF customer estimates, a previous lubricant consumption of 20 litres per week can be reduced to 3 litres, making a total saving of 884 litres per year.
