SKF acquires a British Machine Tool services company SKF has acquired 100% of the shares of the British Machine Tool services company, MTSR Ltd. This specialist engineering company, with yearly sales of some SEK 20 million, is regarded as market leader in the UK with competencies covering a wide range of spindles used in applications such as grinding, milling, turning and drilling. They provide servicing of high frequency, motorized, pulley driven as well as hydrostatic spindle types. In addition to spindle reconditioning, MTSR also offers a range of new spindles, drives and systems, as well as monitoring, assessment, and installation services. The acquisition of the Luton-based company is part of SKF's strategy to further strengthen its position in the Machine Tool segment as a supplier of high precision bearings, machining spindles and spindle related services.
