Highlights of SKF’s presence at this year’s WindEurope conference include a keynote speech, a concept in spare parts management and a longer-lasting gearbox bearing.

Gothenburg, Sweden, 10 Mars 2022: SKF will showcase its technical expertise across the entire wind turbine drivetrain at this year’s WindEurope conference in Bilbao, Spain.

The company’s broad experience – across areas including bearings, seals, condition monitoring and lubrication – can help customers to maximize turbine performance.

One highlight is a new bearing for wind turbine gearboxes. During the conference programme. David Vaes, Manager of the Wind Gearbox Competence Centre, will present a keynote speech. It will include details of a new bearing solution – and rating life models – that can help to increase torque density and improve field performance. Company experts who were involved in its development will also be available to explain more details at SKF’s booth C45 in Hall 1. SKF will also outline details of a new service capability in Hamburg, Germany for repairing wind turbine main shafts. The service draws on SKF’s knowledge of the entire wind turbine drive system.

In addition, SKF will discuss, the Wind Reliability Platform, and proper bearing selection and design for wind turbine drivetrains.

These and other innovations – such as insights into lubrication – can help to maximise sustainable turbine performance at the lowest total cost of ownership.

SKF will also present two posters at the event. One details a CMS diagnostic solution for alarm management optimisation; the second explains how digitalisation can optimise the service life of main shaft components.

WindEurope takes place at Bilbao Exhibition Centre on 5-7 April 2022. Visit SKF at booth C45 in Hall 1.
