SKF inaugurates SKF Campus in Jiading and North East Asia Distribution Centre
Demonstrates SKF’s continued confidence in China
Gothenburg, Sweden, 10, June 2014: SKF inaugurated the SKF Campus in Jiading and SKF Northeast Asia Distribution Centre, both located in Shanghai, China. The completion of the two projects demonstrates SKF’s continued confidence in the Chinese market, as well as SKF’s commitment to create more value for customers in China by localizing product development and manufacturing and by implementing state-of-the-art logistics.

SKF Campus in Jiading covers an area of 45,207 square meters with a total investment amount of SEK 700 million, and is constructed in compliance with LEED standards. It is located in the Automobile Parts Industrial Campus, Shanghai International Automobile City, Anting Town, Jiading District, which is known as the complete automobile support system and is adjacent to several major customers of SKF in the automobile industry and other industries. On the campus is a new automotive bearings factory, a Global Technical Centre, and SKF Solution factory and the SKF College China. The Global Technical Centre will be an integrated part of a global network of Technical Centres and will focus on developments both for global and local needs.
Ground was broken in September 2012 for the SKF North East Asia Distribution Centre. With a total investment of SEK 100 million and located in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), it integrates trade, logistics and account settlement and will cover North East Asia.
Apart from innovative methods of improving operating efficiency, SKF North East Asia Distribution Centre is a green building constructed in full accordance with LEED Gold standard. The solar power generation system can produce 815,000 kWh of electric power consumption and reduce CO2 emissions by 400 tonnes annually. In addition, water can be reduced by 2,038 m3. These achievements are an integral part of SKF’s BeyondZero commitment and fully demonstrate SKF’s commitment to environmental care.
