SKF launches an Internet based marketplace SKF, the global leader in bearings and seals will introduce Endorsia.com, an e-business network that connects industrial buyers and suppliers over the Internet. This new marketplace will provide SKF's customers, primarily industrial distributors, with a comprehensive online support for SKF's products and services, including real time access to technical information, product availability, delivery times and commercial terms and conditions. It will reduce all participants' costs through faster and more efficient order handling, inventory management and logistics. Endorsia.com is developed in co-operation with and will be operated by MRO.com Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of US based PSDI. It will also be opened by SKF to other manufacturers of high quality branded products and services. Phil Knights, President SKF Service Division explains "we believe this is also an excellent opportunity for our distributors to offer their customers an e- business solution. It strengthens the distributor's position and provides the final customers with the benefit of cost effective procurement. This is a key initiative to support our after-market business". "Endorsia.com is an exciting initiative that will open up new possibilities for Dow Corning and we look forward to participating," says Håkan Svensson, European Distribution Manager, Dow Corning which manufactures lubricants and speciality products with brands such as Molykote. "We encourage our distributors and customers to join this new marketplace". "For our customers, uptime is crucial" explains Clas Göpert, Managing Director Sverull, a Swedish distributor of bearings and power transmission products. "Endorsia.com will provide our customers with fast and updated information. I'm convinced this new marketplace will strengthen our product and service offering and thereby our position in the market". Göteborg, September 21, 1999 Aktiebolaget SKF (publ.)
