SKF's global purchasing through endorsia.comTM SKF has decided to use endorsia.com globally for the purchase of all Maintenance Repair Operation (MRO) material. The Group's MRO purchasing amounts to some SEK 2 billion. This is the first step in a process to transfer a major part of the SKF Group's purchasing to endorsia.com. Endorsia.com was launched by SKF during 1999 to provide SKF's customers, primarily industrial distributors, with a comprehensive online support over the Internet for SKF's products and services. Endorsia.com is a global marketplace connecting the complete value added chain from sub-suppliers to end users. By choosing this technology platform, SKF will now require a shift of the sourcing of MRO material to the SKF factories through endorsia.com, thus providing a very cost-effective procurement tool. As a leading electronic marketplace endorsia.com provides electronic catalogues, intelligent search tools, user friendly sourcing and a transaction system for documents and business agreements in real time. Endorsia.com also reduces costs for all participants through faster and more efficient order handling, inventory management and logistics. Endorsia.com is developed in co-operation with and is operated by MRO.com Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of US based PSDI. The first SKF factories to be connected to endorsia.com will be the US factories starting end of March with the first European factories to be connected in May.
