Skills for Health welcomes Centre for Workforce Intelligence

Skills for Health has welcomed the Department of Health’s decision to form the new Centre for Workforce Intelligence.

Skills for Health will be a partner in the new centre, alongside its work as the sector skills council for the NHS, independent and voluntary health sectors throughout the UK. Chief executive John Rogers said: “This is a very welcome development. “Skills for Health has an excellent track record of developing high-quality labour market intelligence and workforce planning tools and solutions for the sector. “We look forward to working with our partners in the new Centre to bring this expertise to bear, in pursuit of a better skilled and more productive healthcare workforce and high quality patient care.” Skills for Health was recently commended by the National Audit Office for its ‘outstanding’ contribution to workforce redesign. In addition to its tools and expertise in workforce transformation and redesign, Skills for Health also produces a wide range of labour market intelligence (LMI) products focused on the current and future skills needs of the UK healthcare sector.
