Rise in UK buy-to-let enquiries from British expats in Europe

Skipton International  has seen a large rise in enquiries for expat mortgages from across Europe this year, along with a significant growth in loan values. In the first nine months of the year, the number of enquiries for buy-to-let mortgages from British expats based in Spain is more than double the number across the whole of 2015, from Germany by more than half, from France and Switzerland both higher than the whole of 2015. Skipton International has launched two new savings bonds with some of the best interest rates in the market. The one-year Fixed Rate Bond offers 1.30% while the two-year bond pays 1.40% per annum gross on balances between £10,000 to £5 million. Skipton International will be passing on the full base rate drop by reducing the UK Standard Variable Rate (SVR) for its mortgages by 0.25%. From 1 September 2016, the UK SVR for Skipton International buy-to-let mortgages will go down from 5.25% to 4.99%. Skipton International launch new 180-day notice account

Skipton International are launching a new savings account with one of the most competitive interest rates in the market. The account is being launched tomorrow (Tuesday 19 July), offering 1.40% AER and is available to new and existing customers with balances between £10,000 and £5 million. A survey by Skipton International  has found 85% of British expats surveyed would not be put off investing in buy-to-let property in the UK. Skipton International has seen a jump in applications for its buy-to-let mortgages from Brits based in Spain. New UK Stamp Duty levy should not deter expat investors

A leading provider of mortgages for expats looking to purchase buy-to-let properties in the UK does not think a new levy will put off investors.
