An increasing number of families are looking for homes outside urban areas, yet demand indicates a need to also be very close to good family facilities and also within close proximity of a major city, according to leadingUKhouse builder, Higgins Homes.

The Shahjada family is one such family, who had been looking for some time to find a home that ticked all those boxes. Abdul Shahjada, 30, explains:

“My family and I had to search for a long time to find a new home that gave us what we were looking for in a suburban house, yet with the convenience of everything we had in the city. When we found out that Higgins Homes were going to start building exactly what we had been looking for and we actually put our deposit down on our new house on the first official date the houses were released onto the market. We were so excited.”

Abdul purchased a four bedroom detached house at Royal Jersey Place, a new development by Higgins Homes in the leafy suburbs of Redbridge, IG4, on the north east London/Essex borders.

To meet this demand, the homes have been designed for families who want to retain a simple commute into central London but who also want to provide their children with a quieter environment to grow up in, with access to good schools and community facilities.

Abdul comments: “When I first heard about the Royal Jersey Place development a couple of years ago I contacted Higgins Homes immediately and kept in touch throughout the planning stages because I just knew the area had everything we wanted as a family. It’s close to central London, has great transport links, renowned schools and a quieter atmosphere than where we were living in East London.

“New properties like these are very hard to come by and Royal Jersey   Placeis also the first new ‘boutique’ residential development in the area for over 25 years. We are thrilled with our new home. Higgins Homes has really addressed peoples’ needs when it comes to the actual build.”

Abdul continues: "Each home is well designed, spacious and accompanied by good parking and a garden - perfect for a modern family!”

The Redbridge site features nine exclusive detached and semi-detached family homes, including one three-bedroom house, five four-bedroom houses and three five-bedroom houses. Each two-storey property is finished to the highest specifications and features a modern kitchen and bathroom, an individual parking space, a garage or carport and a private garden with both a paved patio and lawned garden.

The interiors of Royal Jersey Placehave been designed to be comfortable, yet chic. The stylish Urban Myth kitchens will include a range of integrated appliances by Smeg, while bathrooms and en-suites will be fitted by Ideal Standard. Externally, a blend of brick, render and traditional gabling will ensure the development is sympathetic to Royal Jersey Place’s surrounding environment while a number of established lime trees will provide some privacy.

Jeremy Marcus, Sales and Marketing Director, Higgins Homes, comments: “The contemporary houses at Royal Jersey Place are environmentally sensitive, designed to Level 3 on the Code for Sustainable Homes, whilst still catering for 21st Century family living.”

Redbridge is extremely well connected as it is a gateway between the City of London and the rolling Essex countryside. Both Redbridge and Gants Hill Underground stations on the Central line are near to Royal Jersey Place and frequent services to London Liverpool Street take approximately 20 minutes,* while the development is just four stops from the new Westfield in Stratford. Motorists will also enjoy easy access to the best of the capital via the A12 and M11.

The development is also a catchment area for the high achieving Beal School and it offers a vibrant community spirit and various cultural events year round. There are also many glorious outdoor spaces nearby, including part of Epping Forest and this year, Redbridge will be an integral part of London’s Olympic Games as it hosts the track cycling events at its newly built velodrome.

Prices for a three bedroom family home start from £425,000. For further information please contact Higgins Homes on 020 8550 4367 or visit www.higginshomes.co.uk.
