Smart Eye announces the opening of its first office in China
A growing demand for driver monitoring systems from outside Europe accentuates the need for increased international presence. Smart Eye today announces the opening of its first office in China with Chinese staffing already in place and operational.
Because of increased global interest in driver monitoring technique and Smart Eye’s leading position in the field, the company has for a longer period of time been planning to establish an office in China. Smart Eye is today announcing that the first person has been hired to its new Chinese office that will be situated in Chongqing, in the Sichuan Province of China.
“As communicated earlier this year we see strong global demand that favors geographical expansion. Consequently, we have strengthened the Detroit site, established an office in Japan and today we launch our first branch office in China. The Chinese market has grown in recent years to become the largest in the world with production of 30 million vehicles and we are there to stay”, says Martin Krantz, CEO of Smart Eye.
Martin Krantz continues; “The increasing demand for driver monitoring technology, supported by initiatives from organizations such as Euro NCAP and EU, is spreading outside of the European premium market. It shows the necessity of an increased international presence. Intensive market activity and many on-going international procurements are also reasons to our decision to open the new Chinese office.”
