Municipalities, hospitality venues and commercial properties across France adopt Smartports’ energy hub solutions

Smartports has signed a series of new contracts in France, marking continued momentum and strengthening its presence across municipalities, hospitality, retail and commercial real estate. The new projects span several regions, including central France, Auvergne and Brittany, and reflect growing demand for decentralized energy infrastructure built on existing parking assets.

Among the new clients is the Municipality of Trainou, where Smartports will deploy energy hubs in close proximity to a high-voltage transformer. The location enables efficient grid connection and supports large-scale energy storage, contributing to increased local energy resilience.

In the hospitality and tourism sector, Smartports has signed agreements with several destinations in the Auvergne region, including La Maison de l'Aubrac and Hôtel Enzo Green Clermont-Ferrand. These projects will bring Smartports installations to locations that combine high visitor flows with a strong commitment to sustainable development.

The company has also expanded its footprint in commercial and corporate environments. New contracts include Groupe BDL, which will equip its headquarters with Smartports infrastructure, as well as Centre commercial du Pontet, further strengthening Smartports’ presence in retail locations.

“Across France, we see growing interest from municipalities and property owners looking to combine sustainability with long-term value creation,” says Isaac Junior Pete, COO at Smartports France. “These new projects demonstrate how existing parking areas can play a central role in the energy transition.”

About Smartports

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Örebro, Sweden, Smartports transforms parking lots into revenue-generating energy hubs by combining solar panels, EV charging, and battery storage. This creates scalable energy ecosystems that utilize existing spaces instead of exploiting new land, contributing to the green transition while generating new revenue streams for property owners.
