Energy technology company Smartports is taking the next step in its expansion through a new partnership with Trebo Fastigheter, which is now installing a total of 30 Smartports across three of its properties in Tierp, Bollnäs, and Sandviken.

“Trebo is a role model among property owners, combining long-term management with a clear sustainability focus. Their investment in Smartports solutions demonstrates a strong commitment to future-proofing their properties,” says Julian Lundberg, CEO and founder of Smartports.

From fire station to energy hub in central Tierp

The largest project includes a PAC 14 installation on Sveavägen in central Tierp, just a few minutes’ walk from the railway station and Centralhotellet. The property, formerly Tierp’s old fire station, has been transformed into a modern residential building where Smartports is now integrating its modular energy solution.

“We see great potential in combining modern energy solutions with our existing portfolio. Utilizing areas such as parking lots for solar power and EV charging is fully aligned with our vision of sustainable development,” says Mattias Wallin, CEO of Trebo Fastigheter.

Historic property in Bollnäs becomes part of the energy infrastructure of the future

The second installation is taking place at Åke Wassings väg 15 in Bollnäs – a listed property locally known as ‘The Castle in the Valley’. Located next to Bollnäs Trotting Track, the site currently houses 24 apartments. Trebo is now taking another step toward merging historical architecture with modern technology through the installation of a CAP 8 Smartport system.

“It’s fantastic to contribute to a project where cultural heritage meets innovation. The combination of historic buildings and new energy technology shows what the future of urban development can look like,” says Julian Lundberg.

Strategic location in Sandviken

The third property is located in Sandviken, conveniently positioned along Route 272 – part of the well-known ‘Tidernas väg’ – and just a short walk from Trebo’s marina. Here, another CAP 8 Smartport is planned, strengthening the regional infrastructure for electric vehicle charging.

In total, the collaboration includes 30 Smartports that combine solar power, EV charging, and energy storage in an integrated system.

A step toward sustainable and profitable properties

With Smartports solutions, Trebo Fastigheter can now offer future-ready energy hubs that create new revenue streams, reduce climate impact, and contribute to a more resilient local energy system.

“This partnership demonstrates how property owners across the country can take tangible steps toward both greater profitability and sustainability. Together with partners like Trebo, we’re building the energy infrastructure of the future – one parking space at a time,” concludes Julian Lundberg.

About Smartports

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Örebro, Smartports transforms parking spaces into revenue-generating energy hubs by combining solar power, EV charging, and battery storage. This creates scalable energy ecosystems that make use of existing spaces instead of exploiting new land – contributing to the green transition while generating new revenue streams for property owners.
