Energy technology company Smartports takes the next step in its Swedish expansion through a collaboration with Bra Bostad, the largest private property owner in Hylte Municipality.

Smartports continues to grow in the Swedish market with another project that demonstrates how its technology can contribute to the green transition – while creating new value for property owners. In partnership with Bra Bostad, a total of 26 charging points are now being installed at properties on Norra Industrigatan in Hyltebruk, home to around 400 residents.

At Norra Industrigatan 15–23, two CAP10 units will be installed, located on the eastern and western sides of the parking area. At Norra Industrigatan 25–27, one CAP6 unit will also be built. In total, residents in the area will gain access to 26 modern charging points – an investment that strengthens both accessibility and sustainability in the neighborhood.

The collaboration is part of Smartports’ broader strategy to transform existing parking areas into profitable energy hubs. By combining solar power, EV charging, and battery storage in an integrated and scalable system, Smartports creates circular energy ecosystems that utilize existing infrastructure instead of exploiting new land. For property owners such as Bra Bostad, this means new revenue opportunities, more efficient operations, and a clear climate contribution – without expanding onto undeveloped land.

– “As Bra Bostad focuses on offering affordable housing, we constantly look for innovative solutions – particularly within energy and environment – to provide our tenants with the best opportunities without increasing their housing costs. In our collaboration with Smartports, we found a solution that truly reflects that ambition,” says Mats Peter Sernrot, CEO of Bra Bostad.

For Smartports, the project exemplifies how the company’s technology can promote a more inclusive energy transition – one where even smaller communities and residential areas gain access to smart, locally produced energy.

– “This project is a clear example of how our solution creates value on multiple levels – for property owners, residents, and society as a whole,” says Julian Lundberg, CEO of Smartports. “By utilizing existing spaces, we build sustainable energy systems that strengthen both local development and Sweden’s transition toward a more resilient energy grid. This is the energy transition in practice – decentralized, commercially viable, and ready to implement today.”

Bra Bostad, a long-term and locally rooted actor, has in recent years developed a clear sustainability strategy centered on social responsibility, local collaboration, and environmentally conscious property management. The company is the largest private property owner in Hylte Municipality, with over 330 apartments and premises, and also manages 230 apartments in Laholm Municipality. Investing in charging infrastructure and sustainable energy solutions aligns perfectly with Bra Bostad’s overarching goal of contributing to attractive and future-proof communities.
