Smartports is taking the first step in a multi-year strategic partnership with Avesta, focused initially on joint project development in France and Sweden. The initial phase of the collaboration covers 8 projects across the two markets and represents a combined installation value of close to EUR 8 million, including Smartports energy hubs and battery storage solutions.

Today, Smartports announces the launch of a long-term partnership with Avesta built around joint execution and shared responsibility throughout the project lifecycle. The scope of the initial phase includes 4 projects in France and 4 in Sweden, then the second phase will be made of 13 projects in France and 10 in Sweden, with more to come in France and Sweden after the successful execution of the initial 2 phases and more in additional markets

The partnership is structured to combine Smartports’ integrated energy hub solutions with Avesta‘s battery energy storage solutions. Together, the parties will develop, install, and operate Smartports installations and Avesta battery storage solutions as part of scalable energy infrastructures for property owners and site operators.

“This is not a one-off initiative, but the beginning of a long-term collaboration where we jointly develop and realize projects over time,” says Noshin Omar, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Avesta.

For Smartports, the partnership model is a central part of the company’s growth strategy, enabling scalable deployment across multiple markets while maintaining long-term quality and operational consistency.

“Partnership-driven development is essential for building scalable and long-term sustainable energy solutions. By working closely with Avesta and its well designed and European assembled battery energy solutions, we create the conditions to expand across several European markets with a shared execution model,” says Julian Lundberg, CEO and founder at Smartports.

The first phase of the collaboration, now underway, focuses on establishing optimized products, common structures, ways of working, and delivery models for the initial projects. These foundations are designed to support a phased scale-up over the coming years, both in France and Sweden, as well as in additional markets as the partnership evolves.

“This partnership between Smartports and Avesta is allowing Avesta to complete his offering with a full solution to serve the fast-growing market of Battery Energy Storage Solution in the C&I segment (Commercial & Industrial),” says Renaud lecompte, Commercial Vice President at Avesta.

The partnership aligns with Smartports’ long-term strategy to collaborate with strong local and international partners to accelerate the deployment of integrated energy hubs that combine solar production, EV charging, and battery storage.
