Snell launches major enhancements to the KudosPro converter range and introduces new low cost LC300 compact converters
Additions bring increased efficiency, higher performance and competitive pricing
IBC2014, Booth 8.B70: Newbury, UK, September 12, 2014 – Today Snell announced the introduction of KudosPro-IQ, the next generation KudosPro image processing and conversion platform, with increased flexibility and additional processing tools, as well as significant feature enhancements to the entire KudosPro converter family. Also new for IBC is the Kudos LC 300, single channel converter, offering competitive pricing and a compact format. KudosPro-IQ is available to customers today, while Kudos LC 300 is set to become available to purchase in November.
KudosPro-IQ offers customers the same format and frame rate conversion capabilities as the industry leading KudosPro converter, but with increased flexibility. Specifically, the new version integrates Snell’s IQ modules, enhancing processing and interfacing capabilities and simplifying integration with the rest of a customer’s infrastructure. KudosPro-IQ is highly cost effective because of its versatility: customers can integrate the new hardware into existing systems to maximize ROI and reduce the need for additional equipment by utilizing built-in processing capabilities.
New features across the KudosPro range include performance improvements for even sharper images, logo insertion and keying options, and increased ability to clean cut images and detect film-based cadences for processing. SNMP control and monitoring is now also included in the package to provide seamless integration with customers’ network management systems.
Kudos LC 300, a new range of single channel conversion boxes, has been engineered to offer a cost-conscious image processing solution, making it affordable for smaller operations and specialty broadcasters. The new addition to the Snell conversion lineup is compact yet highly user-friendly due to its efficient front panel control – this benefits broadcast organizations with smaller staffing whose operators may need to fill several roles.
“These new features and additions create a more flexible and cost effective conversion line up - without sacrificing quality, making it accessible to an even wider range of broadcast, post and A/V production users,” said Robert Rowe, managing director of Live TV at Snell.
Along with the forthcoming Kudos LC 350, featuring additional video and audio I/O options, Kudos LC 300 units will be available in Q4 2014. Visitors to Snell’s IBC 2014 booth, 8.B70, can see the both KudosPro-IQ and Kudos LC300 in action and learn more about the performance and options available.
