After the UK’s Big Freeze we’re definitely looking forward to some sun! Here we give you the run-down of what’s coming up for spring/summer at Snow+Rock:

WHAT’S HOT: Technical specialists – at Snow+Rock one thing we know about is getting the right gear for the job! So this spring/summer we’re concentrating all our efforts on offering fully technical garments that will cope with the demands of any outdoor enthusiasts. Exciting new brand to the Snow+Rock stable is HAGLOFS – Swedish brand producing outstanding outdoor clothing and equipment. Designed for people who invest in an outdoor life, their products are highly functional for a variety of end-users. NIKE – the well-known global brand was new to our stores last year, and was so successful that we’ve grown the range that we’ll be offering. Designed by pro-climber Ben Moon, MOON clothing has stretch cotton separates that are ideal for Bouldering or Rock climbing, but can just as easily be worn for everyday wear. Their range for women has some attractive highlight pieces. PATAGONIA is leading the way with their Eco-friendly initiatives. Everything they produce is manufactured with as little effect to the environment as possible. They regularly use recycled and recyclable fabrics, and their Common Threads Recycling Programme means you can send garments back to them when they’re worn out and be assure it will be made into something else. Colours are bold and vibrant for summer – with bright greens, pinks, yellows, blues, berry plums and purples. Even your summer luggage sets can get an injection of colour with pop pink, ink blue and TNF red duffels, backpacks, laptop bags and wheelies from The North Face. * * * TREK & TRAVEL: Here at Snow+Rock our biggest department for summer is Trek & Travel, which encompasses all the essential clothing and equipment needed for a wide variety of outdoor summer holidays. With the ’09 Staycation being a disappointing washout, we suspect many people will be travelling further afield this summer. So our Trek and Travel ranges have clothing and footwear suitable for a variety of climates and activities - whether you’re hiking in Peru, sight seeing in Paris or walking in The Pyrenees: Ranges from The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, Haglofs, Berghaus and Arcteryx include technical Ts, shorts, convertible pants and jackets with wicking properties for outdoor activities in warm climates. Icebreaker’s 100% merino wool summer pieces are the ideal travel companion. Their natural wicking properties keep you cool and dry, whilst they remain fresher longer and can be screwed up into a backpack between outings. Layer them up and they will also work to keep you warm on cooler summer evenings. Royal Robbins, Horny Toad (exclusive to Snow+Rock in Europe), and The North Face also offer cotton styles perfect for sightseeing in warmer climates, including dresses, vests, t-shirts and loose fitting longer shorts. Closer to home, the long-range weather forecasts are predicting higher than average rainfall in some areas of the UK, so waterproofs will be essential British summer wear! Luckily we have fully waterproof jackets starting from £79.95, perfect for packing in a picnic hamper! ACTIVE Running, biking, swimming, our Active range has specialist clothing for action sports. Along side running ranges from well-known brands such as Salomon, Nike, and The North Face, we’ll be introducing Haglofs. We will also have Icebreaker’s Sport range that incorporates all their natural merino properties in stylish lightweight sport designs, and Speedo swimsuits for the pool. BOULDERING Our summer Bouldering ranges have cotton stretch items that are perfect for climbing, but are also versatile enough to double-up as lifestyle pieces. Specialist brands Moon, PrAna, and Arc’teryx have hoodies, stretch ¾ pants and T-shirts in lime, blues, and berry colours. Rock shoes from Boreal, are ranged in a similar colour palette.
