Society of Interventional Radiology Issues Annual Scientific Meeting Call for Abstracts
FAIRFAX, Va.—Scientific abstracts, covering all areas of vascular and nonvascular interventional radiology, are being accepted for the Society of Interventional Radiology’s Annual Scientific Meeting in New Orleans. This year’s meeting theme, “IR Reaching Out,” was adopted to illustrate the many ways the Annual Scientific Meeting will provide valuable education to attendees with a broad range of diverse clinical interests and practice settings. Original scientific material for oral or poster presentations may be submitted online; the deadline for submission is Oct. 9. Late-breaking abstract submission begins Dec. 10 and closes Jan. 8, 2013.
All accepted abstracts are published as a special supplement in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology—a peer-reviewed, monthly publication long recognized for its exceptional quality and influence as an academic and professional resource—and on its website. Research awards to support travel are available. In 2012, SIR’s Annual Scientific Meeting, the biggest gathering of interventional radiology professionals with more than 5,100 attendees, accepted 455 abstracts. Out of those, 160 were posters and 11 were designated as distinguished abstracts and presented during the meeting’s plenary sessions and categorical courses.
