Softcat wins Canalys Channel Partner of the Year Award in Barcelona
Marlow, UK, 11 October 2012 – Today Softcat is elevated to the European stage as it takes home the ‘Channel Partner of the Year’ award from the annual Canalys Channels Forum EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) event in Spain. The award, presented at Hotel Arts Barcelona, distinguishes Softcat for its consistently high volume of sales, outstanding levels of customer satisfaction and its on-going growth in a challenging economic environment. Softcat has more than doubled its turnover and staff in the last two years, and in July 2012 it announced a turnover of £307 million.
The awards are designed to recognise and reward those channel partners who have “demonstrated superior performance in specific areas”. Out of the six available categories, Softcat won the overall award of EMEA ‘Channel Partner of the Year’.
Martin Hellawell, Softcat’s managing director, said, “It’s great to be here in Barcelona alongside some of the most successful channel partners, distributors and vendors in Europe. This award further cements Softcat’s reputation as a top IT reseller that continues to thrive regardless of the economic environment, owing to our commitment to excellent customer service and outstanding employee satisfaction, both of which we believe drive sales.”
He added, “Softcat has won many awards on the national stage, but this is the first European IT industry award we’ve won. It follows on from our success in Berlin this summer, when we achieved a ranking in the top 50 workplaces in Europe with ‘Great Place to Work’.”
“It’s humbling for a small company like ours, to win such a prestigious award on a European stage. And as a football fan, I’m particularly delighted to be part of an English team, winning something in Barcelona. That’s a rarity!”
