Cell Phone Radiation May Harm Unborn Babies

A new study suggests that cell phone use during pregnancy may be harmful to the health of unborn babies.

According to Science Daily, researchers from the Yale School of Medicine exposed mice to cell phone radiation during pregnancy. They found that the radiation affected the offspring’s brain development and could cause issues with memory and hyperactivity.

The study, which was published in Scientific Reports, found that the cell phone exposure affected the development of neurons in the same section of the brain responsible for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Experts say that expectant moms may want to keep cell phones away from their pregnant stomachs, but note that further testing is needed in humans to fully understand the effects of cell phone radiation on unborn infants.
