MA Top Consumer Complaints List Released

Foreclosure scams, used cars and insurance policies were among the top consumer complaints reported by Massachusetts residents in 2011.

According to CBS News, federal and state agencies as well as the Better Business Bureau released their lists on the top five categories of complaints that consumers reported to their offices last year. Among the leading complaints were contractor concerns and defective used cars. For the second year in a row, other top complaints were related to health, auto and home insurance.

Abusive foreclosure practices caught the attention of many after five major banks in the U.S., including Bank of America, and Citigroup Inc., recently agreed to pay $26 billion in a foreclosure settlement.
