A UK school has been evacuated following the discovery of mesothelioma-causing asbestos products that were uncovered during renovation work that was being performed on the facility.

The BBC recently reported that Flora Stevenson Primary School in Edinburgh had been closed and evacuated for a week after a worker drilled through a board in the school’s cloakroom and disturbed some asbestos products.

All 447 students and teachers from the school were reassigned to a neighboring school. They were also all evaluated for illnesses relating to asbestos exposure.
