Subaru Issues Recall for Forester SUVs

Report this content

Subaru issued a recall for 275,000 Forester SUVs due to seat belt safety issues.

According to Consumer Reports, the seatbelt systems for 2009 to 2012 model years of the Forester do not meet federal safety standards and could hinder the proper installation of child safety seats, says the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The NHTSA also said that the automatic locking retractors in the back center seat of the vehicles do not lock properly, which increases the risk of injury to passengers sitting in that seat during a car accident.

No reports of injury were reported in relation to the car recall.
