Asbestos Lawsuits Filed Against Florida County

Report this content

Nineteen current and former employees who worked in a Florida county courthouse have sued the county over claims the building is contaminated and has caused them to experience illnesses.

According to the Sun Sentinel, the employees claim that the Broward County Courthouse is infested with asbestos and toxic mold that float through the air, exposing them and the public to health hazards.

The asbestos lawsuit traces the contamination of the building to water damage from the hurricanes Katrina and Wilma in 2005.

The workers seek compensation for their sicknesses and want the courthouse to be evacuated.

Asbestos exposure can lead to a number of life-threatening lung cancers such as mesothelioma.

If you or a loved one has been exposed to asbestos, you may be entitled to compensation. Contact Sokolove to learn about your options and find out if you have grounds to pursue legal action.
