ConAgra Sued in Consumer Fraud Lawsuit Over Hot Dogs

Report this content

A consumer fraud lawsuit was filed against ConAgra Foods Inc. claiming the company’s Hebrew National brand hotdogs, labeled as kosher, are actually not.

Eleven consumers filed the complaint in Minnesota state court last month, claiming meat-processing services of the company do not meet the standards to label Hebrew National Food products as kosher, according to Reuters. They further allege that the company “did little or nothing” to address employee complaints that the meat ConAgra processes was not kosher and threatened or terminated the employment of those who complained.

The consumer fraud lawsuit seeks class action status for all U.S. consumers who purchased Hebrew National products over the past four years. It also accuses ConAgra of violating the state consumer fraud laws and of negligence.
