Fall Hazard Prompts Recall of Patio Bistro Sets

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of 16,400 patio bistro sets due to a potential fall hazard the chairs may pose to consumers.

The three-piece patio set was imported by L G Sourcing Inc. and sold exclusively by Lowe’s Stores nationwide from 2011 to early 2012. The sets consist of a folding table and two folding chairs, which may cause a person to fall if the chair support bar is not fully engaged.

The company received 13 reports that partially engaged chairs have already caused scratches, bruises, and back injuries.

According to CPSC, the recalled items were manufactured by Midas Lin Co. Ltd. of China.

The hazardous chairs are made of a black steel frame with dark stained wooden seats and backs with “Garden Treasures” printed on the instruction manual cover that comes with the sets.

Consumers are advised to contact Midas Lin for warning labels and supplemental instructions for the chairs and should not return them to the stores.
