FedEx Settles Gender Bias Lawsuit for $3 Million

Allegations that FedEx discriminated against 21,635 job seekers throughout the U.S. led to a $3 million settlement by the company.

FedEx reached the settlement after the United States Department of Labor reported it found evidence of discrimination in its hiring methods on the basis of race, sex and national origin, according to The New York Times.

As part of the settlement, FedEx will make various changes to remedy any hiring practices that are discriminatory and offer jobs to 1,703 of the people who were previously discriminated against. Most of the positions FedEx hired for with unfair biased were part-time package handlers.
