Fosamax Lawsuits Filed Against Merck

More Fosamax lawsuits have been filed against Merck & Company that claim the osteoporosis drug caused two people to experience jawbone injuries.

According to Courtroom View Network, Amelia Flores and Jo Ann Sessner allege they developed osteonecrosis of the jaw after taking Fosamax(alendronate) to treat their osteoporosis. This condition causes the jaw bone to completely deteriorate, causing serious dental issues and requiring surgery.

A number of Fosamax cases have been filed against Merck from patients claiming they suffer from the same condition. Some of the cases have been consolidated into a mass tort in New Jersey.

Fosamax has also been linked to spontaneous bone fractures.
