Glenmark Issues Recall for Birth Control

Glenmark Generics has issued a recall for seven lots of its birth control pills because some packages may have pills in the wrong order, which may lead to ineffective contraception.

According to theFood and Drug AdministrationNorgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets are being recalled because some of the packages had their blisters of pills rotated so that they were not in the correct order. The error also made the expiration date and lot number more difficult to see.

The pills were distributed between September 21, 2011 and December 30, 2011.
