Heated Pet Mats Recalled Fire Hazard

Heated mats that were designed for pets and made in China have been recalled due to fire and electrical shock hazard concerns.

Approximately 25 Indoor Pet Heating Comfort Pad Mats were recalled due to poor wiring and construction and posed a fire and electrical shock hazard to the pets of consumers. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that the heated mats manufactured by Fuzhou Senhor Leisure Products Co., Ltd., of China have already resulted in two incidents where the mats caught fire and caused property damage along with one incident of the death of a dog due to asphyxiation.

 The recalled product is identified as “GSI electronic 50W indoor pet heating comfort pad mats”. The mats are made of polyester and have a white electric cord and are retailed in various colors such as pink and beige.

The mats were being exclusively retailed at Amazon.com were voluntarily recalled by the firm in collaboration with CPSC.

Consumers are advised to contact World Class for a full refund, while the company is trying to contact all the consumers who have purchased the recalled product directly.
