Judge Consolidates Consumer Fraud Lawsuits Against Gerber

Report this content

A federal judge in New Jersey Federal Court consolidated five class action consumer fraud lawsuits against Gerber Products Co. claiming the company made false health claims about its probiotic baby food.

U.S. District Judge Jose Linares combined the complaints because he found that they were similar in their fact and questions of the law.

The consumer fraud lawsuits claim that Gerber promotes the product as being good for a child’s digestion and providing similar health advantages to breast milk, while the products are not any better than the other Gerber products sold at lower price points, according to the New Jersey Law Journal.
