Kolcraft Recalls Contours Tandem Strollers Due to Fall and Choking Risks

Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. issued a recall for 5,600 Contours Options LT Tandem strollers because of a fall and choking risk they pose to children.

The front-wheel assembly of the strollers can break, posing a fall hazard to the child in the stroller, according to a press release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. In addition, for strollers made in January and February 2012, the nuts that hold the stroller’s basket support screws in place can detach. Detached nuts can pose a choking risk to young children.

The company received six reports of front caster wheels breaking and two reports of the basket’s support screws and nuts detaching.

No injuries have been reported.
