Mac and Cheese Recalled Due to Possible Metal Fragments
Bay Valley Foods issued a recall of about 74,000 cases of boxed pasta mix products due to the possible inclusion of small metal fragments in seasoning packets.
The products are manufactured by Bay Valley’s subsidiary ST Specialty Foods, Inc. The recall was issued because a seasoning blend manufactured by Kerry Ingredients & Flavours used lactic acid that may contain small metal fragments, according to NBC affiliate KUSA.
Some of the recalled products include King Soopers and Kroger’s “Macaroni & Cheese Rich n Creamy” and varieties of “Macaroni & Cheese Three Cheese.” Wal-Mart’s "Thick and Creamy Macaroni and Cheese" may also contain the fragments.
There have been no reports of any injury or illness associated with these products, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
