Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Filed in Connecticut

A Connecticut woman filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the Tully Health Center claiming it failed to diagnose a fatal condition that caused the death of her husband.

According to The Connecticut Post, Frank Hermann was admitted into the health center on February 11, 2010 complaining of “flank pain.” Doctors performed a CT scan on his stomach and discharged him that morning, according to his wife Susanne Wilke.

Nine days later he was rushed to Stamford Hospital in critical condition. A CT scan showed he had a pulmonary embolism that eventually caused his death.

Wilke alleged that the Tully Health Center and the contractor that provided its emergency medical physicians acted in medical negligencewhen they did not find the pulmonary embolisms in her husband’s lungs. She claimed performing the appropriate tests would have detected the problem.

Other defendants named in the medical malpractice lawsuit include Stamford Health System, Emergency Medicine Physicians, and the emergency physicians at the Tully center.
