Advance Sports Inc. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have issued a recall for women’s bicycles due to a defect that may cause consumers to be injured.

According to the CPSC, about 10,500 of the Fuji Saratoga Women’s cruiser bicycles have been recalled because the bike’s frame may break in the middle of the downtube during use, causing the rider to lose control and fall. The 2008-2010 models years were included in the bicycle recall.

The bikes were sold in specialty bicycle stores throughout the U.S. from November 2007 to December 2011.

There have been 12 reports of incidents where the bike frames broke and caused injuries, including a head laceration.
