Symptoms of Erb's Palsy

Report this content

There are various symptoms parents can look for if they are unsure whether their baby has Erb’s Palsy, which is a serious birth injury that may affect a child for the rest of their lives.

Some of these symptoms include:

  • No arm movement: your child is not moving the upper or lower arm or hand
  • Bent arm: your child’s arm is bent at the elbow and held against the body
  • No startle reflex: your child has an absent Moro reflex on the side that is affected. This reflex is a response to a sudden loss of support when the infant feels like it is falling
  • Decreased Grip: your child has a decreased grip on the affected side

If you think your child has Erb’s Palsy as a result of the negligence of a medical professional, contact Sokolove Law for a free legal consultation and to find out if a medical malpractice lawyer may be able to help you. For legal help, call (800) 581-6358.
