Utah Ruling: Patient’s Family Must be Considered in Treatments

The Utah Supreme Court has recently ruled that medical professionals will be responsible for taking in to account how the family of a patient may be affected by treatments.

According to The Salt Lake Tribune, this decision opens the door for family members to take legal action against health care providers if they are impacted when adverse events take place related to a loved one’s medical care.

This decision may also affect the number of medical malpractice lawsuits that are filed against doctors.
