A Connecticut television station has received a very troubling home video that appears to show an employee at a nearby nursing home abusing a female patient with an intellectual disorder.

According to CNN, a DVD titled “The Perfect Employee” was recently delivered to Hartford CNN affiliate WFSB-TV claiming to have footage that was shot at group home in West Hartford. In it, a employee at the home is seen kicking a female resident in the stomach, hitting her with a belt, and dragging her across the floor by her hair.

Upon seeing the video, Terrence W. Macy, the commissioner of the state’s Department of Developmental Services, said he was disgusted by the video and was able to confirm that the employee was “immediately put off duty with no pay” and the subject of a criminal investigation by East Hartford Police.

"Why would one human being do this to any other human being?" he said, according to CNN. "This is a person who requires a lot of support, bathing and assistance eating."
