A number of employees at a Virginia nursing home are finding themselves in legal trouble as civil charges alleging elder abuse at the home have been filed by the family of a former patient.

NBC affiliate WVIR-TV recently reported on a civil nursing home abuse lawsuit that was filed against 47-year-old Anthony Johnson, a nursing aide at Envoy Nursing Home. The lawsuit alleges that Johnson groped a 53-year-old patient of the Staunton, VA nursing home in January and also tried to force a 43-year-old patient to perform oral sex on him the spring prior.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery and a misdemeanor sexual battery.

Days after his arrest, 41-year-old Diane Renee Kline, a registered nurse and administrator at the nursing home, was also arrested in connection with Johnson. She was charged with failing to report possible elderly abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a resident to Adult Protective Services. The family of the one of the victims is who ended up bringing the incidents to light.

Additionally, a second worker is also facing criminal charges in relation to the alleged nursing home abuse, but has not been arrested yet.
