On March 29th, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation listened to arguments in dangerous drug lawsuits over the SSRI antidepressanZoloft and the hair loss drug Propecia.

Last week, the Panel ordered the coordination of pending federal Zoloft lawsuits, transferring them to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, which will be assigned to the Hon. Cynthia M. Rufe. It also ordered the centralization of all pending Propecia lawsuits to the Eastern District of New York, which will be assigned to Hon. John Gleeson.

Propecia has been linked to persistent sexual side effects and male breast cancer and Zoloft has been linked to birth defects in children whose mothers took the drug while pregnant.
