Zoloft Lawsuits Continue to be Filed Against Pfizer

The latest of the slew ofZoloft lawsuits against Pfizer have been filed in St. Louis Circuit Court charging the drugmaker with negligence.

According toPharmaceutical Field, the complaint has been filed on behalf of 18 children who were born with birth defects after their mothers took Zoloft while they were pregnant. The plaintiffs claim that Pfizer failed to properly warn patients and doctors of the antidepressant’s side effects.

The Zoloft lawsuit claims that the drug maker should have known that the risks of birth defects increased when pregnant women took the drug. The charges against Pfizer include negligence, strict liability, failure to warn, and fraud.
