Dish Network Sued Over Unsolicited Telemarketing Calls
Dish Network Corp. was sued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for violating federal law by placing millions of telemarketing calls to consumers who had previously stated they did not want to receive any calls by or on behalf of the satellite broadcaster. The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for Central Illinois alleges that since 2007 the pay-TV company was involved in making the telemarketing phone calls in violation of federal “do not call” rules, according to the Denver Business Journal
