BEDTIME STORIES ACTOR JONATHAN MORGAN HEIT SUPPORTS SOLES4SOULS AS FIRST KID SPOKESPERSON FOR SHOELESS WORLDWIDE
The Shoe Charity and child actor partner to raise awareness for millions of children without shoes
Nashville, TN & Los Angeles, CA- May 2, 2012 – As the voice of Cubby in Disney’s hit animated series “Jake and the Neverland Pirates,” Jonathan Heit influences millions of preschool children around the country every week, and now he hopes to influence them to change the world. Soles4Souls and Heit announced today that he will help the charity raise awareness for the 300 million children around the world who do not have access or cannot afford adequate footwear.
“Using my platform as an actor to influence others has always been important to me,” said Heit. “When I was in Kenya last summer I was shocked at how many kids did not have shoes but had to walk miles to go to school and had to walk over tough terrain with broken glass. I believe that when children hear about Soles4Souls and the millions of other kids around the world who have to go to school or walk everyday barefoot, they are going to do whatever they can to help. It’s my hope that I can be a voice for those kids around the world who maybe don’t have one,” he added.
Heit, currently 11 years-old, started his professional acting career at the age of 4. A native of Hollywood, it all started organically as everyone who met him commented that this kid was destined for the entertainment business. He started out doing commercials and episodic television on shows like “ER”, “How I Met Your Mother”, and “Monk” and at the age of 8 booked his first big movie role as the lead in Disney’s “Bedtime Stories” with Adam Sandler. Following that Jonathan had key roles in major movies such as “Date Night”, “Valentine’s Day”, and “The Search for Santa Paws.”

You will also be able to hear him next year as the voice of Kip Super Nova in a major upcoming animated feature film “Escape from Planet Earth” due to hit theaters in February, 2013. In Jonathan’s spare time he is very active in sports and is also dedicated to helping kids around the world. He is involved in many charities including SAG BookPals where he reads to kids in schools, Next Aid where he has started a Kids for Kenya campaign, and of most recent Soles4Souls where he is the first kid ambassador and will be helping to bring shoes to kids in need around the world. When Jonathan grows up, he has aspirations to become a director and has already completed two directing courses at New York Film Academy and has written and directed two shorts.
