ONE THOUSAND KIDS TO GET FREE SHOES AFTER PRO GOLFER MATHIAS GRӦNBERG HITS RARE HOLE-IN-ONE
NASHVILLE, TN—September 12, 2012—Today Soles4Souls is celebrating the exceptional skills of professional golfer Mathias Grönberg after sinking a rare hole-in-one at the Omega European Masters on September 2nd. The career high for Mathias has even more significance, in part, because of his involvement in Juil footwear’s program, “Pairs Under Par.” Within this program, Juil footwear pays it forward for outstanding golf rounds played by participating professionals. The shoe company donates $1000 to the charity for every hole-in-one (Grönberg’s being the first in the program since its launch in March).
The event was played at the Crans Montana course in Crans-Sur-Sierre, Switzerland. In Grönberg’s final round on Sunday he had a hole-in-one at No. 3, hitting his 7-iron from 191 yards. Mathias finished the round with a 71 and a final total of 8 under par to tie for 14thplace overall.
"With this incredible shot, we will donate $1,000 to Soles4Souls to provide footwear to 1,000 people in need," said Peter Coulter, Director of Media and Advertising of Juil.
“It was an incredible feeling to see my 7-iron from 191 yards go into the hole,” said Grönberg. “It is really rewarding to see that Juil is making a nice donation of 1000 pairs. I knew how much this would help if I made a hole-in-one during the year. I am glad this has become a reality.”
This is Mathias’s 10thhole-in-one in his professional career.
