Soles4Souls, the Shoe Charity and Footwear News to Visit Crisis Center in Pasadena for ‘Great American Shoe Drive’
The shoe charity and footwear publication to make stop at Bridge Over Troubled Waters in Pasadena during their cross country shoe giveaway
Nashville, TN (August 30, 2010) – Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity, has long focused on giving shoes to people in need, but with announcement of The Great American Shoe Drive they are putting their operation on wheels. Since the launch in early August, the shoe charity and FN (Footwear News), the footwear industry’s leading business news and information authority, have been traveling across more than 20 states with the goal of distributing thousands of pairs of shoes to disadvantaged men, women, and children.
On September 7th, from 9am- 11am, Soles4Souls and Footwear News will visit the Bridge Over Troubled Waters crisis Center in Pasadena to distribute shoes to the residents.
With the help of brands like Asics, Clarks, Dearfoams, Dr. Martens, Impo, Jellypop, Micro-Pak, Minnetonka, Puma, White Mountain, and Yellow Box, the ‘shoe charity on wheels’ will make its way across the country collecting and distributing shoes along the way.
“We are excited to be spending the next several months traveling the US, bringing our message of hope through the gift of shoes to neighborhoods and individuals who need it,” said Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls. “There are folks who need help right in our backyard, and we hope that The Great American Shoe Drive will help bring a smile to the faces of the residents at the Bridge Over Troubled Waters Center.”
The tour launched at the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City on August 3rd and will continue through 22 cities, ending in Nashville, TN on November 17th.
